The Lego Star Wars games seem to have such wonderful humour. Although the Star Wars items have been done to death, this humour makes the game. It is fun, and challenging and suitable for all ages. Theres no language to be concerned about either. A long lasting game and multiplayer too. Very good value for money in my opinion.
I bought this game last year for $50 and it has been well worth the money. The characters are easy to maneuver, there is so much story (six episodes with six levels each plus tons of bonuses), and two can play together. After you play each level in story mode, you can go back and play in free play, in which you choose your characters, find secret areas, and collect Lego cannisters which make a Star Wars minikit. There are also other bonus levels, such as Lego City which in which you must find the 1,000,000 hidden studs by destroying, building and solving puzzles. And there's more...you can visit Jabba the Hut and work as a bounty hunter looking for characters or play a two person arcade mode. As for following the Star Wars movie plots...it does fairly well, but a few levels (especially in Episodes 1,2 and 3) seem to elaborate on something minor in the movie and leave out a major scene. Regardless, we have enjoyed this game very much and are still playing!
"Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga" is a fun and entertaining videogame for both children and adults alike. All six "Star Wars" films are represented in six separate games, which each game containing six levels. First you must play a level in "story" mode: meaning that you must play that level using characters as defined by the game. Once you complete a level, you can replay it in "free mode", which allows you to play it with any characters that you have unlocked to that point. A variety of items are hidden in each level, some of which cannot be accessed until you can play that level in "free mode". For example, some areas are only accessible to bounty hunters and some objects can only be accessed using the dark side of the force.
With each level successfully completed, the player earns a gold Lego block; and the more Lego pieces that are collected while playing a level, the more Lego "money" is earned, as well as the possibility of earning "Jedi status" for that level, which earns yet another gold Lego block. Finding hidden items in each level may unlock other abilities that can be purchased if you have earned enough Lego money. XBOX-360 Achievements are earned for completing each film-based game, as well as for other game accomplishments.
Since the game's developers went to great lengths to recreate the look and feel of the "Star Wars" universe, as well as the plot of each film, in a Lego-format, "Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga" is an immersive game that is sure to provide many hours of entertainment and fun to anyyone. Hence, my overall rating for "Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga" is a resounding 5 out of 5 stars and I highly recommend it.
