YOU MUST OWN A COPY OF FALLOUT 3 TO PLAY THIS EXPANSION. This disc contains Operation Anchorage and The Pitt two expansion's previously available from X-box Live through a download. Operation Anchorage puts the player in a simulator to experience the Chinese Red Army siege of Alaska (which Fallout 3 fans should already know about through the game anyway). It introduces new weapon's and armor that your character can use if they win the simulation which you can then use in the "real world". The Pitt takes you to Post Apocalyptic Pittsburgh to save a town over run by Raider's(again Fallout 3 fans should already know what a raider is). You get new weapon's here as well. The expansion is a little on the short side but it is still really fun. If you are a Fallout 3 fan this is a must own if you haven't already got it from Live. Oh and when you put in the disc it will automatically give you the new X-box experience which is pretty much a new dashboard and you make an avatar for when and if you go online. Hope this has helped.

I don't have my X-Box 360 plugged into the internet, and even if it were I mostly play single player games anyway, so when I saw this on the shelf at the local Wallyworld for a measly $19.99 I had to have it. The game isn't really a sequel so much as it simply adds two new quests and their associated areas. Sort of.
Operation: Anchorage is definitely the better of the two games and puts the player into a simulation which recreates large elements of the Battle of Anchorage, which is a pretty important battle in the Fallout universe. The goal is to end the siege of Anchorage by the Communist Chinese invaders and involves a number of side quests, such as taking out enormous artillery guns to destroying a tank park. It's a real blast seeing US T-51b power armor marching around and squaring off against the Red Menace as you battle from Point A to B to C to try and take out the Chinese leader, General Jingwei. At the conclusion of the simulation you may even be lucky to walk away with a few souvenirs for use in the Wastes. And despite everything being largely covered in snow it was kind of a thrill to see the world as it was before the nukes fell.
The Pitt is the second DLC pack for Fallout and is also a very good expansion for the game, although its not quite as power packed as Operation: Anchorage. Players meet with a new NPC in the far northern edge of the play screen and this NPC guides them to take part in some anti-slavery mayhem in the post-apocalyptic city of Pittsburgh, PA, now known simply as "The Pitt". The game advertises and ballyhoos its "moral grey areas" where player choices are made, and it wasn't kidding. There were a few things I had to do and a few choices I had to make I wasn't really comfortable with, but when all was said and done I was pretty sure that the right thing had been done. The game doesn't have the usual lineup of Ghouls and Super Mutants, but rather abberations called Trogs which each member of the slave caste ends up transforming to unless they receive the cure. And only only one person in the city has the cure, and the slaves want that cure pretty badly...
Neither game really gives you explorable terrain and both are fairly linear in layout. This may bug a lot of folks, and to be honest tweaked me a little bit too. There were obviously sections of the Pitt that were begging to be explored but were simply impossible to get to. There are a few new weapons and pieces of armor to be gotten, but admittedly the best ones come from the Operation: Anchorage expansion (the winterized T-51b Power Armor with US Army markings was awesome enough, but the Gauss Rifle and Stealth Suit really sweetened the deal further). If you can lay your hands on The Infiltrator in the Pitt, it is by far the finest 5.56 ammo weapon I've come across, far better than the Chinese Assault Rifle. Definitely recommend as a buy!
