Dance Dance Revolution Universe 2 (Xbox 360)
Dance Dance Revolution Universe 2 (Xbox 360) Reviews
I bought the XBOX 360 and this game for the sole purpose of using it as a workout routine. As a 35-year old woman, it's probably the best investment in my health that I've made yet (and far better than the money I threw at gym memberships). I get a great workout everyday in the comfort of my living room and have a blast doing it! Graphics are great. Song choices are great (I find myself singing them to myself during the day). Workout mode lets you track steps and calories burned. I've been dropping weight/sizes since I started this new routine. I LOVE this game!
I bought this just after Christmas, for my daughters and I to play together. Since my kids are younger, this game was the best for all of us to play. It had levels they could play, and levels to challenge myself as well. Not to mention, the variety of music to keep us into it. It kept us playing for hours, until bedtime. Boy were we ready for bed after a night full of dancing! It is by far one of the best gaming investments I've ever made!!!
This is the second of (currently) three DDR games for the Xbox 360 and (in my humble oppinion) the best of the three.
This version has a wider variety of songs and genres as well as work out modes that will track progress even outside "workout" mode. This is an especially nice feature when unlocking the included songs or taking a few minutes to practice outside of any routine. The game can, based on weight, track an estimate of calories burned and will store your progress over time.
I felt that the difficulty of this game was comperable to other DDR games, however expert players might want to take this with a grain of salt as typically stick with the "Normal" difficulty. For an intro level player, you will still have fun, but it will be a bit chalanging (but with easy, even those with two left feet should be able to pass most songs).
The major problem with this game (and all 360 versions) is quest mode, which is required to unlock certain songs. In quest mode, you have to fill the dance gauge to a certain level, unfortunatly, not all songs have enough steps to do this. Thus, it is possible to fail the song even if you dance it perfectly. Fortunatly all this really means is that you need a second song to complete the challenge. (still irritating though)
