First, I liked the idea of the splitter to use as a second pedal for dual base that can be used for both games. This was my only reason for wanting this, as both my RB2 pedal and my GHWT pedal is in fine condition after much use.
The problem with this product is that when the splitter is used, pressing the secondary pedal in the down position between notes restricts the other pedal from registering. Therefore, you must have both pedals in the unpressed position for the opposite one to register. This causes fatique quickly for the leg that is not in use as you constantly must have the pedal in the up position.
The second problem I had with this pedal is that it had to be released about 75% upwards after pressing it down to register the next hit. So for quick base notes, you almost have to raise your foot up and down the entire full range of the pedal to register the next note. Basically you have to work a heck of alot harder than you should. My original pedals register notes just barely bringing your foot back up from the down position. The only thing I liked about this pedal was the width.
So for me this product failed on both fronts. After an hour of trying different things, I went back to my orignal drum pedals and it instantly felt much better. I put this in the closet and will only keep it for temporary use between original drum pedals if they should ever break.

My Rock Band 2 kick pedal had broke completely in half (what I get for buying a used kit), so I decided to buy this pedal at my local Best Buy. At first, I was only slightly disappointed it didn't come with the splitter that it said it came with. No biggie, I already owned a splitter.
I set the pedal up and was all ready to zip away on some Rock Band 2. Immediately, the kick pedal didn't respond at all. I went to Freestyle mode and played with the switch. Each time I switched modes, it responded as if I had hit the pedal. Still though, even as I pound the pedal it does nothing.
Angrily I call Nyko, and to make a long story short, the guy said it was basically defective and to exchange it for another one. NO WAY! I exchanged it for the Block Head Rhythm Maker Professional Drum Pedal. I wish that pedal was available on Amazon, I'd write a glowing review for that pedal.
This one's a waste of perfectly good money. If you need a new pedal, go with the Block Head pedal. It may be $32 but it's way better than this piece of junk.

This was a purchased for my son, I asked him how he like the drum pedal and his response was that he really like it and it seems to be a little bit more better than the one that came with guitar hero.
