Resistance Retribution is a great game to come to the PSP. The graphics are almost as good as God of War Chains of Olympus except some character animations look a little blocky. The cutscenes look crisp and clear on the PSP's LCD screen. Even though there is one analog stick the controls are easy to use. There is an automatic lock-on when an enemy comes into view. Or you can manually aim which is a little tougher. Even though I've never played Resistance Fall of Man or Resistance 2 because I don't have a PS3, this game turned out really good and I would strongly recommend this to anyone. Its rated M for blood and gore, partial nudity, strong language, suggestive themes, and violence.

This is an extremely well thought out game. The graphics and gameplay are excellent- I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed. Because of the auto-aim capability I do find it easier to play than Resistance Fall of Man, but given the lack of high-fidelity controls on the PSP, it's a tradeoff which works well.

With the journals and the narration by Rachel Parker, the game's main character is more accessible than Nathan Hale. I felt that I learned more about his character in the Resistance novel than either Resistance 1 or 2. R2 did some characterization but not enough. The campaign also is well varied, challenging and fun. There are few new weapons, but some old ones have twists. The razor is a nice psp spin on the bullseye. It has a charge attack that ricochets off walls. It's pretty cool, and it needed to be to replace the bullseye. The mech battles are nicely distributed. I think the use of hags also really mixed it up. I hated those things, but they require good aiming (or a powerful blast, which wastes good firepower). All in all I can't recommend this game more. On a technical aspect, it is not God of War, but its gameplay and story are arguably the best on the system if not the best.
