...buy this game already. It's too much fun. There's so many ways to play this game, and there's such a great atmosphere to this game, Rapture is an incredibly engaging world. Get this game already, you're wasting time reading this.
I own this on xbox 360, ps3 and PC. While the PC graphics are indeed the best of the 3, the ps3 graphics blow the 360 version out of the water. Maybe that's because they had more time to perfect them, but this is true 1080p compared to the 360's 720. The story, characters and atmoshphere in this game cannot be beat. Do yourself a favor and pay 16 bucks for this game, it is worth every penny!
Stop reading this and buy it! Well seriously, this is a great game that combines elements from video games genres like FPS, adventure, horror and a little bit of RPGs. Graphics are top notch, effects like water and fire are superb, the design of the characters is quite nice (although cartoon-ish) and the environment is just mesmerizing... you certainly feel like playing inside an underwater eden gone bad. Just one thing the framerate once in a while dips a little bit but is not enough to harm the overall experience.
The gameplay... I have to say IMHO that this game is no ordinary FPS, you will be exploring this massive underwater setting while fighting the very quirky (and smart) splicers. And by fighting I mean burning, freezing, electroshocking, and throwing them with your powers... Of course you have weapons found in every other games like a gun, shotgun, machinegun and the trusty wrench.
About the story... Well it is sublime and told in an engrossing way, it may not be Metal Gear Solid's but the story is good enough and worth mentioning, and very translatable to the realm of movies. And has an AMAZING twist!!!
Conclusion: if you like adventure games or... if you like games that can be considered as art don't let this one go you won't regret it.
