the kids always played these games and i wondered why. i found out now this is great and fun to boot.now they have to wait for the computer .
I am a huge fan of creepy and paranormal stuff so I decided to give this game a go, having just completed the first one. I must say, this game is a little bit more challenging than the previous installment. Some of the hidden objects are extremely difficult to find and some of them blend in too well with the background. You can barely tell what some of them are supposed to be, I found myself squinting and getting up close and personal with my computer screen half the time. The dark, chilling atmosphere is still there, and I like the spooky voices, but I don't like the graphics at all. I think they should've stuck with the setup of the first game, timer and all. At least some of the objects were distinguishable. Return to Ravenhearst looks more like a Saturday morning, Disney cartoon. But the door puzzles are harder, not to mention weirder. The hint option is not something I'm overly fond of. I don't like how you can ask it only one time and have to wait like 30 seconds for it to reload before you can get another.
Another thing I don't like about this game is that it automatically thinks everyone should know what a French curve is. I had no idea what the hell that meant until I finally looked it up. They're tricky like that, inserting words in there that you don't know the meaning of. How are you supposed to find it if you don't know what you're looking for??
Good game to play on a rainy day if you enjoy these types, but I wouldn't suggest this as a way to relax. Some of the clues can be very frustrating to search for, therefore, this game can easily cause your stress level to go through the roof!
But, it's not like the others. The focus is much less on hidden objects as it is on a series of puzzles to unlock more territory to search. Much more challenging than the rest in the series. Lasted longer too. I'm a logic lover, and this really was the best logic game I've played. But, a warning, if you really just love looking for hidden objects and the puzzles in between annoy you, this isn't the game for you.
