You might think by looking at this product that it is a game or a toy; that is simply not the case. The KORG DS10+ perfectly emulates the classic KORG MS10 synthesizer with some added features, and if you have a Nintendo DSi or DSi XL, it can actually emulate using TWO MS10s at once.
I could sit here and explain to you how amazing this product is, but if you really want to see what people can do with the DS10+, just head over to Youtube and search for DS10. You'll find a wealth of tutorials, cover songs and original works that people are making with this product. People are even using it in live performances and as a synth or drum machine in bands. If you are an aspiring or professional musician, or you just like to play around with music tools, then you should definitely have this in your collection.
And if you are still not convinced, you should check out my artist page on bandcamp: [...] All the songs there were made with the KORG DS10/DS10+.

It's easy to see why the previously engaged KORG DS-10 underwent a price hike as anyone has noticed-- it's because this piece of software is beyond that of any 'game' this is, and shouldn't be, categorized by. Rather, this is a sophisticated, deceptively simple piece of tech that unlocks all, or as much as one's imagination can implement, the potential to make some very good use of some synthesized sounds and composition! To even call this a game is an overstatement of just how easily overlooked this little slice of heaven can get you because it's just so damn fun to use! I'd recently only found out about KORG synthesizers-- the Electribe MX's, the Kaossilators, Kaoss Pads and such-- and I always wanted to try one out without the hefty price tag to just get up and buy one only to be discouraged of how daunting of a task it would have been learning how to use the tech in the first place.
... or looking like a fool at Guitar Center or something for messing around with it for hours on end, returning day after day... after day...
Now there isn't a tutorial mode I've seen in this software, and the instruction manual gives you some bare basics about the program itself. So it does demand a bit of attention and patience. However if you've plenty of both, you'll find this 'game', rather, tool, very rewarding. It actually feels more like a detached 'hands on' approach to what the real thing might feel like as it has alot of the fundamental aspects of just what using an analog synthesizer (at least from what it feels like here, KORG-tech synths) is all about. I imagine this doesn't have all the true aspects and freedom of a true analog synth but since my first approach into using this software I'm teaching myself more and more things I didn't imagine I could do and I feel a smile growing brighter and bigger with each newly learned trick, technique or trait I've developed in just a very short amount of time using this, because I can't put it down!
Now I'm not seeing it's easy to pick up and use, far from it; it's just that if you've a knack for picking things up quickly, or want to try your hand into something new and adventurous with your ears (as well as your mind) give this a go. Lastly, I have no idea how different this compares with the original KORG DS-10 title, so I doubt any previous features and such were removed? I have no idea...
I went directly for this one for specific reasons, 1) The Original KORG DS-10 I've noticed runs a pretty hot price, last time I checked, almost 100 bucks. Throw in nearly another 100 and you could get yourself a brand spankingly new Nintendo DSiXL. That and I've honestly never SEEN the original KORG DS-10 before, ever. 2) I already own a Nintendo DSi and KORG DS-10+ claims to take advantage of more features than if it were to run on a traditional DS, so with that I feel somewhat blessed but also out of the blue of what people who use DS's are left without.
In short, if you've any interest in making music, toying with synths, compiling beats or just want to try something totally different, give this piece a go. I can't imagine how anyone could be disappointed with this...
If I get myself a Nintendo DSi XL, I'm making sure to get myself another copy of this to get TWO KORG DS-10 rigs going! THAT will be AWESOME! I feel that much closer to some serious oldskool classics of yore: Omni Trio, Altern8, Midi Train, J.Knights, and so much more-- I'm with ya on this! Everyone get on board and get this bit!
